(RNN) – A&E Television has suspended Duck Dynasty star Phil Robertson, according to a statement from the network obtained by several media outlets.
The suspension comes after a profile piece appeared in GQ in which Robertson told the magazine that he does not support homosexuality, calling it illogical and a sin.
“[A woman has] more to offer. I mean, come on, dudes! You know what I’m saying? But hey, sin: It’s not logical, my man. It’s just not logical.”
Robertson went on to say “Everything is blurred on what’s right and what’s wrong. Sin becomes fine.”

This is interesting. I have read opinions supporting both sides of this issue, and from what I have read GQ magazine “set him up.” They were pretty sure what his response would be when asked for his opinion on homosexuality.
As a result of my profession, I have learned to listen to BOTH sides of the story, and believe me; that is not always easy. Sometimes I want to scream, “get off of your high horse,” and that goes for both sides of this issue and many others, as well!
Personally, I do not feel homosexuality is a “choice.” Why would someone choose to be ridiculed, harassed, beat-up, condemned to hell, etc., for how they live THEIR lives? As the Pope stated, “If someone is gay and seeks the Lord with good will, who am I to judge?” With that being said, personal opinions are just that, personal! As the saying goes, “If you do not want to hear the answer. Do not ask the question.”
All of us have the right to an opinion, ALL OF US; even if their opinion may differ from yours. Last time I checked, this is but one thing we enjoy living in America. We all have a RIGHT to an opinion.
Surely, the media should have more important stories to cover, right? Kids being beat to death, and sexually assaulted; not having enough food to eat, inadequate education, etc. There have been stories of women raped worldwide, and that, unfortunately, has become a common occurrence. Some young men and women have lost their minds; attending parties and drinking way too much. Some young men take this as a “ticket” to free sex without consent. These are just a few of the challenges that must be addressed, but of course the media chooses “fluff” stories because they are easy and get people all crazy! As the saying goes, “Do not ever discuss politics or religion.”
Between the Target debacle and the Duck Dynasty thing, I am already tired of hearing and reading about both. Here it comes, Taylor. Just sayin’ (lol).
